Came across this amazing video and concept. They say, they have been doing this for more than 50 years but I'm sure no one knew.

Watch video for more.

a weekend to remember

Last weekend, I was trying to evade from the regular job. I had no idea, I would do that in mumbai but I did. Called up friends, booked tickets, did a little packing and I was off to mumbai.

For those who are not aware of mumbai, the first surprise/confusion you get is from the names of stations. Even, indian railway is confused about Dadar. It's DDR and sometimes it's DR. Anyway, my weekend started with getting down at Dadar and then confusing my friend over phone about the location I was.

Any stranger would get confused and lost at dadar station. I was shocked to see eunuch winking at me saying "excuse me". No offense there but it was scary.

Finally, my friend arrived and without much hugging we went to Churchgate (I guess). From there to some restaurant-cum-bar near the infamous Taj Palace. The place ( I don't remember the name), was so crowded that I never thought there would be place for us. But, in their low roofs, we got a table to dine/drink.

After dinner we started roaming around. Went to Gateway of India but it was pretty much off limits. After the 26/11 incident, there's too much police near it. We went to Marine Drive after that and enjoyed the calmness of ocean. The cool breeze was washing away the dust which settles down over us from working. At nariman point, police warned us from going to near to the water. I guess people must have been committing suicide there.

From there to the newly build, sea link bridge. Oh that's amazing. They should build more like that. Then to a hooka bar in Bandra. Ahh, the strawberry shake was amazing.

Around 3 AM, we were back in my friend's place somewhere in mumbai. We fell like dead poles and slept. The next day, we planned to go to GoI and Juhu beach.

Juhu beach is an awesome place. Though the water there is not, but the crowd, the ocean front is amazing. After spending time there and waiting for a friend who actually didn't come. :( we went to GoI.

It was so crowded. On the way, we found this store. And the following statue.

Building looked like totally ruined but they are worth hundred millions in INR there. At GoI, there was no place to move. People were clicking photographs as to remind themselves in future that they were there. Everything felt like affected after 26/11. Even the toys were commandos crawling. ;) At first, it felt funny, but soon everything flashed in a second in front of my eyes.

200+ died, thousands traumatized, millions worried, 1 caught still NO justice. I clicked few photographs of Taj Palace and since we didn't had much time, went to CST.

Met another friend there and college days were back. Started making fun of each other, almost two years have passed but we still understand each other's jokes and remember every minute details of any time we were together.

After college, life has changed a lot. Some are struggling, some are enjoying but I'm sure everyone is missing the friendship, the time we were together. Laughing our way out on everything, we had to say goodbyes.

I guess no one noticed but I felt when we were saying goodbyes.

p.s. : this post is dedicated to you, who missed this great chance of meeting you know who by working on sunday and smsing "abort mission" :P

No Names

I have been listening to stories since I first came into this world. Some I understood, some I didn't. Some which weren't supposed to be listened too.

Anyway, as I got old enough to tell stories, I've been telling stories. Stories that involve fairies for start, batman next, superman after that. As I realized those were cartoons, I started telling stories of people who lived around me. Some fascinating stories, some evil deeds and lot more. Reality is really amazing than fiction.

But, I realized it very late ( in college ) that I was doing it wrong. B'coz I was telling the names. I mean the real names of people involved in them. All those fairies, batman and all other hell kind of stories too had names, but they were not real.

The whole point is, it's good to not use names when you are telling any incident to your friends. The person involved may not be around. Still if you give out the name, it might hurt him/her sooner or later. I've seen this, we usually talk more about skepticism and not the good things someone did.

You could always choose to tell story like one of my friend did this while he/she was with someone @ someplace. Give a broader thing to stumble people to. So, that they are more focused on the story not the identity of the person.

So, that's the reason my friends, I've been not telling you any names lately.

2011 would be an year of change

well Heraclitus said
"everything flows, nothing stands still.
nothing endures but change."

but people don't really accept a change instantly. they oppose, reject the idea.
I maybe not sure about this, but I haven't changed a lot.
for one thing, my weight is still constant ;) and another my b-Rain still thinks the same about some individuals and things.
as recently pointed out by friend, I've not changed my attitude even.

so, I'm marking/making year 2011 as the year, I would do a lot of changes in myself.
I'm not sure about what all I would do, but I figured out some points.
I would
1. start being formal.
2. start considering tax saving plans.
3. start staying away from facebook.
4. have a life insurance policy.
5. start sleeping before 11 PM.
6. stop sleeping for 14 hours on weekends.
7. stop staring.
8. stop forgiving people.
9. start listening to non-loud tracks.

maybe the list would also change during the year. but I'll try to do my best.

wish you all a happy changeful new year 2011 !

2010 gone or what?

Hey,

Julian Assange arrested! Well, I like that guy and his work wikileaks.

iPhone 4 had flaws :( Good year for Android and Microsoft. Share market still doesn't bother me. Al-Jazeera english got license to broadcast in India. Now I wonder, how did my cable operator used to provide me with that.

Is 2010 already gone? If not yet, let me recall all the great and ugly things that happened (not necessarily with me)
I'll start with bad things first ;)

I left my 1st company. I know it won't look like a bad thing but I miss it sometimes. Not the company, but company of amazing friends (naah, I won't call them colleagues).

I didn't gain any weight. Unbelievable, but it's true.

I lost a recently found friend. I don't know why but I lost her. (she's still alive, just lost contact).

thinking............ bad stuff???????? nothing more for the list.

Now the good stuff.

I got my Engineering degree. ;)

I started cooking. Yeah, forced by useless maids, I had to cook my own food. Initially with online help on phone, now I can cook on my own. And it's edible, somewhat tasty.

I moved to Pune. It's a good thing, right?

I met old friends this year, one really after a long time. And felt amazing. Hope to meet more good old friends in 2011.

Well, that's all for now. Some pretty big things/decisions to make in 2011. New year resolutions in next post. But before that, time to party :)

p.s. : i'm not getting married in 2011. ;) i still love you.
